Haven't been here in a while. Just in case you couldn't find the link to my new site it's www.1stArtescape.com. I love the new look of my website, and some of my latest works are featured on the Natural Instincts page. I don't know what's happening, but despite the million other things I am always working on, I have painted with abandon since last spring. I feel that something new is going on, and that I am truly letting go.
I have heard it said that you should paint for yourself. Don't make art with the intention to sell, and once you let go of the "I have to sell this" mode, you can really make progress with the art that represents you. I am definitely moving in that direction. Yes, I would still love to make money, get famous, etc. Right now, however, I am more excited about what I am doing with my art than the potential to make money. It's a good place to be. I hope that I will eventually get some followers on this BLOG who want to discuss the creative process. It's a complex thing that we do. Let me know your thoughts if you're out there.
ONE MORE THING: I have a show at Eye of the Eagle this month with my dear friend and travel buddy Jodi Aker. She has some fabulous photos, pottery and mixed media works on display. Please come by to take a look. The reception is September 25 from 6-9pm. We'll have some good refreshments and great art for you to peruse.
Also, I'm teaching a new Beginners Acrylic Class at Eye of the Eagle, http://eyeoftheeagleart.com/, starting on Tuesday, Sep 15. It's not too late to sign up. Just call 919 812 0557 and leave a message. Go to the website to see other classes and events.
